Prevention of Kidney Stone

Kidney stone is a hard object that is result of an accumulation of dissolved minerals on the inner lining of the kidney. These deposits can grow to the size of a golf ball while maintaining a sharp, crystalline s
tructure.

Pain during Kidney stone usually starts in the back below your ribs, radiating around your abdomen, and sometimes to your groin and genitals.

If you have Kidney stone, be careful about your diet because restricted diet can help you to flush out your renal stone through the urinary tract or to prevent the formation of new stone.

Drink at least 12 glasses of water (2-3 litres per day, preferably soft water in case of hard water boil sufficiently before drink)

FOOD RECOMMENDED

Coconut water, it is high in potassium and magnesium, which helps you to prevent stone formation.

Vegetables (Carrots, bitter Gourd), they are rich in minerals which act as stone inhibitors.

Lemon, it is rich in citrates, thereby preventing calcium oxalate stone formation.

Banana, It is rich in vitamin B6, which breakdown oxalic acid in body and thereby prevents stone formation

Pineapple juice, It contains enzymes which breakdown fibrins, thereby preventing kidney stone formation

Fibres (Barley, Oats), they are rich in stone inhibitors

Almond, it is also a rich source of potassium and magnesium which is also act as stone inhibitor.


FOOD RESTRICTED

Vegetables like Tomatoes and spinach have high oxalate content and Cauliflower, Brinjal, Mushroom have uric acid / purine content which cause stone formation.

Fruits like grapes have high oxalates, which can leads to stone formation.

Non-Vegetarian Food - Mutton, Chicken, Fish and Eggs are high in uric acid / Purine content, which are also responsible for stone formation.

OTHERS

Cashew nuts are high in oxalate content and

Chocolate / Cocoa, chocolate drink, tea, are high in oxalates.
