Soft drinks may be harmful to your health ?

A meal consisting of burgers and fries is never complete without soft drinks. We never think of the ill-effects that these beverages have on our health, when we gulp them in excess.
Evidence confirms that soft drinks cause serious cell damage. Research from a British university suggests a common preservative found in drinks such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Fanta, Mrinda, Sprite, Due has the ability to switch off vital parts of DNA, a problem more usually associated with aging. This can eventually lead to cirrhosis of the liver and degenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s.

There are following other factors that indicate why you should bring down the intake of soft drinks:

1. Dehydration

High levels of caffeine in soft drinks may lead to dehydration. Caffeine is a natural diuretic and causes your body to excrete fluid through urine. Since caffeinated soft drinks can make you need to use the restroom frequently, do not consume them if you are exercising or if you live in a hot climate. You may be more likely to suffer from effects of dehydration, such as thirst and fatigue. Water has the opposite effect. Drinking water keeps you fully hydrated so you can drink it while working out or playing in the sun.

2. Tooth Decay

Soft drinks can contribute to tooth decay and dental cavities. Sugary beverages coat your teeth, gums and tongue for hours after you drink them. This effect breaks down enamel on your teeth, making them more susceptible to rotting. Water does not contribute to dental decay. In fact, water is fluoridated and actually helps strengthen your teeth.

3. Weakened Bones and Risk of Osteoporosis

Frequent consumption of soft drinks may also increase the risk of osteoporosis, especially in people who drink soft drinks instead of calcium-rich milk. Excess consumption of soft drinks in children poses a significant risk factor for impaired calcification of growing bones.

4. Increased Blood Pressure

Experts believes that over consumption of fructose, particularly in the form of soft drinks, leads to an increase in blood pressure.

5. Kidney Problems

Some studies suggest that consumption of soft drinks also leads to the development of Kidney problems like reduced kidney function and Kidney stones.

6. Metabolic Syndrome

Soft drink consumption is also a significant risk factor for developing of metabolic syndrome, a combination of the symptoms such as high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol, and insulin resistance.

NADI PARIKSHA - Technique of Reading the Pulse.

Nadi Pariksha is the oldest procedure of Ayurveda, to determine the psycho-physical constitution of the individual and the state of balance or imbalance of the doshas. It is also Known as “Pu
lse diagnosis”.

Nadi Pariksha is based on the principal of vibrational theory, in which the biological elements of the body i.e. Vata, Pitta and Kapha creates vibrations throughout the body. With the help of this technique, Ayurvedic physician perceives these vibrations and find out the status of doshas, which are responsible for your health or illness. When the range of proportion of doshas remains within the limit or equilibrium, it is called optimal health. When these doshas lose their equilibrium and become imbalanced, they lead to disease.

There are many points in the body, from where physician can easily find out the vibrational pulse. But, the the most common place is wrist from where pulse can be checked by physician easily and clearly (for males, the right hand wrist and for females, the left-hand wrist pulse should be taken by the physician).

According to Ayurveda, rhythm, amplitude and frequency of the pulse are associated with the movement of animals.

For Example, if you have imbalanced Vata dosha, the pulse at your wrist would be similar to the movement of the snake: fast, irregular, empty. Your wrist would be more subtle, as the snake moves quickly, creating irregular features.

During imbalanced Pitta, pulse would be similar to the movement of the frog, hopping, smooth, determined. Like the frog, its movement would be continuous "jump" into a regular rhythm and eye-catching.

And during imbalanced Kapha dosha, pulse would be similar to the movement of the swan, slow, wide, majestic and full.

On basis of above mentioned description of Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis and your complains, Ayurvedic physician perceives about the imbalanced doshas, accumulated toxins, impaired organ and pathological changes of specific parts of your body, which helps them to prepare a perfect prescription of required medicines to you.

It is also advised to avoid this remedy during cloudy days.

Above mentioned procedure is known as NASYA KARMA. In Ayurveda, Nasya Karma or Nasya thearapy is one of the most important part of migraine treatment. It is a process wherein the medicated oil is administered through the nostrils.
