NADI PARIKSHA - Technique of Reading the Pulse.

Nadi Pariksha is the oldest procedure of Ayurveda, to determine the psycho-physical constitution of the individual and the state of balance or imbalance of the doshas. It is also Known as “Pulse diagnosis”.

Nadi Pariksha is based on the principal of vibrational theory, in which the biological elements of the body i.e. Vata, Pitta and Kapha creates vibrations throughout the body. With the help of this technique, Ayurvedic physician perceives these vibrations and find out the status of doshas, which are responsible for your health or illness. When the range of proportion of doshas remains within the limit or equilibrium, it is called optimal health. When these doshas lose their equilibrium and become imbalanced, they lead to disease.

There are many points in the body, from where physician can easily find out the vibrational pulse. But, the the most common place is wrist from where pulse can be checked by physician easily and clearly (for males, the right hand wrist and for females, the left-hand wrist pulse should be taken by the physician).

According to Ayurveda, rhythm, amplitude and frequency of the pulse are associated with the movement of animals.

For Example, if you have imbalanced Vata dosha, the pulse at your wrist would be similar to the movement of the snake: fast, irregular, empty. Your wrist would be more subtle, as the snake moves quickly, creating irregular features.

During imbalanced Pitta, pulse would be similar to the movement of the frog, hopping, smooth, determined. Like the frog, its movement would be continuous "jump" into a regular rhythm and eye-catching.

And during imbalanced Kapha dosha, pulse would be similar to the movement of the swan, slow, wide, majestic and full.

On basis of above mentioned description of Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis and your complains, Ayurvedic physician perceives about the imbalanced doshas, accumulated toxins, impaired organ and pathological changes of specific parts of your body, which helps them to prepare a perfect prescription of required medicines to you.

Remedy to Cure VARICOSE VEINS

Ingredients :

• One teaspoon of Arjuna powder (Scientific name : Terminalia Arjuna)
• One teaspoon of Guggulu powder (Scientific name : Commiphora mukul) and

• 2 crushed Garlic cloves

Boil all above mentioned ingredients in 300ml of water till the water remains ½ in quantity. After cooling, drink with chewing cooked garlic cloves on an empty stomach (twice a day i.e 30 minutes before breakfast and dinner).

What are Varicose Veins ?

Veins are blood vessels that return deoxygenated blood from the outer parts of the body back to the heart and lungs. When these veins become abnormally thick, full of twists and turns or enlarged, they are called varicose veins. This Varicose veins can form anywhere in the body, but they are mostly occurs in the legs.

Symptoms

1. Prominent dark blue blood vessels
2. Bulging or twisting of the affected vein
3.Aching of the affected area, especially after sitting or standing for lengthy periods
4. Swelling in the legs
5. A feeling of heaviness and muscle fatigue in the legs
6. Itching around the affected veins
7. Leg cramps at rest

Cause

Veins push blood through valves which alternately open and close. Surrounding muscles help in this blood flow. When there is a chronic increase in blood pressure, the vein gets dilated and the vein walls are pushed apart. The valves cannot seal properly or failed to close properly and the muscles find it difficult to push the blood forward. The blood begins accumulated in the veins causing them to bulge and contort. In other words, Varicose veins are caused by weakened valves and veins in your legs.

Above mentioned Ayurvedic Home Remedy helps you to increases your venous tone, venous drainage and to lower your venous pressure. It is also helpful in shrinking engorged veins and reducing the inflammation of your legs.

Natural ways to prevent varicose veins

1. Exercise regularly to keep leg muscles toned and blood circulating.
2. Bring weight under control.
3. Your diet should be low in fat, sugar and salt.
4. Drink plenty of water.
5. Quit smoking. Smoking contributes to elevated blood pressure that can aggravate varicose veins.
6. While sitting or resting for long periods of time, elevate your legs.
7. If you have varicose veins, put your feet up a few inches above heart level to let gravity drain pooled blood from legs.
8. Incorporate bioflavonoids in your diet in the form of fruits such as oranges, apricots, blueberries, blackberries etc.

PROSTATE

Prostate is a small gland specific to men, located beneath the urinary bladder and wrapped around the urethra. Urethra is a tube that carries urine from the bladder to the penis and on out of the body. Prostate gland produces the milky white prostatic fluid that helps carry and nourishing sperm. It secretes at the time of ejaculation, which is alkaline in nature and also helps to neutralize the acidic environment of the vagina. Therefore, it is helpful to sperm for surviving after ejaculation.

BPH or ENLARGEMENT of PROSTATE

BPH refers to benign prostatic hyperplasia (increase in the number of cells) or hypertrophy (increase in cell size), the non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate. As men grows older there is an abnormal increase in prostatic cells (two out of three males), which makes pressure on urethra at the base of the urinary bladder causing painful urination.

Untreated prostate gland enlargement can block the flow of urine out of the bladder and can cause bladder, urinary tract or kidney problems.

Prostate gland enlargement varies in severity among men and tends to gradually worsen over time. Prostate gland enlargement symptoms include :

1. Frequent or urgent need to urinate
2. Burning with urination and a discharge from the penis
3. Sensation of fullness behind the scrotum and in front of the rectum
4. A thin stream of urine which stops and starts rather than a full stream of urine
5. Straining while urinating
6. Not being able to completely empty the bladder or Urine retention
7. Dribbling at the end of urination
8. Lower back and thigh pain
9. Urinary tract infection
10. Formation of stones in the bladder
11. Reduced kidney function

CAUSES

The causes of prostate enlargement are not yet fully known, but are probably associated with the ageing process and dihydrotestosterone, a male hormone. Experts believe that dihydrotestosterone spurs the prostate's growth in adulthood.

Natural Ways to Reduce Prostate Enlargement

Consult a doctor as soon as symptoms appear. In particular, see a doctor if your symptoms cause distress, are associated with abdominal pain, or if the urine is blood-stained. Once symptoms develop, they remain persistent. Without medical attention, the condition may worsen and cause distress.

Try to avoid medications and other substances that aggravate the condition. These can include alcohol, medications used to treat depression or Parkinson's disease, some heart drugs, and certain cough and cold remedies.

These other self-care tips may be of benefit.

1. Do not let your bladder get too full. Urinate as soon as the urge arises. Try to relax when urinating.
2. When taking long car trips, make frequent stops to urinate.
3. Whenever possible, sit on a hard chair instead of a soft one.
4. Incorporate a healthy diet with lots of fruits (bananas, coconut, cranberries, dates, goosberries) and vegetables (beetroot, cabbage, lettuce, onions, parsnip, radishes, spinach.
5. Reduce your coffee and alcohol intake and avoid spicy foods if possible.
6. Restrict the intake of fluids before going to bed.
7. Reduce stress.
8. Don’t smoke.
9. Prefer moderation in sexual activity.
10. Alternating hot and cold sitz baths can offer some relief from pain.

SITZ BATH - Sit in hot water for three minutes then in cold water for one minute. Repeat this procedure three times to complete one set. You can do two to three sets per day.

11. Avoid cold and sinus medications because they contain antihistamine, which can make condition more worsen.
12.Avoid dampness and cold temperatures

10 Foods to Help Prevent Clogged Arteries

• Garlic
Since ancient times garlic has been used to treat heart disease and hypertension. According to a study published
in preventive medicine, garlic inhibits coronary artery calcification which serves as a marker for plaque formation.

• Grapes
Grapes are rich in flavonoids, quercetin, and resveratrol. These flavonoids have been found to prevent the oxidation of bad cholesterol that leads to the formation of plaque in artery walls. They also lower the risk of developing blood clots that can lead to heart attacks.

• Spinach
Spinach is rich in potassium and folic acids, both of which act as a defense against high blood pressure. Spinach is also rich in lutein, a plant carotenoid which not only protects against age related macular degeneration but also
prevents heart attacks by keeping arteries free from cholesterol build up.

• Fish
A study conducted by researchers at Southampton University found that Omega 3 oils, present in fishes like
tuna and salmon, stop the build up of fatty deposits in the arteries. These fatty acids prevent clots from forming and cholesterol from becoming oxidized.

• Olive oil

Only oxidized cholesterol is able to stick to your artery walls and form plaques. Monounsaturated fats present in
olive oil when mixed with molecules of bad cholesterol become less likely to be oxidized.

• Tomatoes
According to a study conducted by Korean researchers, lycopene, a compound present in tomatoes that gives them their color, helps in prevent hardening of the arteries. Researchers found that women with the highest lycopene levels in their blood had the least stiffness in their arteries.

• Pomegranates
Pomegranate juice not only appears to prevent hardening of the arteries by reducing blood vessel damage, but may also reverse the progression of this disease. Pomegranate fruit and its juice are high in antioxidant content, which may help fight hardening of the arteries.

• Kiwi and Cantaloupe
These antioxidant-rich foods work by reducing toxic LDL cholesterol, which is formed by a rusting process in your
arteries. They can help stop the rust in its tracks and even prevent it from spreading. Eat one cup of cantaloupe or one kiwi per day to unclog your arteries.

• Cranberry juice
This juice strains the fat out of arteries. Instead of having fat build up in your blood vessels, this juice boosts your
cell’s ability to absorb the fat and use it for production of energy. Drink three glasses of this juice every week to
unclog your arteries.

• Oats
Thanks to the soluble fiber in oats, cholesterol doesn't stand a chance. This fiber attaches itself to cholesterol
and carries it right out of your system. Some studies have shown that eating just 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 cups of cooked oat- bran cereal daily can lower cholesterol levels by almost 20%.

DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH

It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:

Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.

METHOD OF TREATMENT
1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water

2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute

3.. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.

4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours

5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.

6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.

The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:
1. High Blood Pressure (30 days)
2. Gastric (10 days)
3. Diabetes (30 days)
4. Constipation (10 days)
5. Cancer (180 days)
6. TB (90 days)
7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards – daily..

This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.
It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life. Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active.

This makes sense .. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain...

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.

Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.
Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks:

• Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting,
• Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
• You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.
• Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
• 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.
• Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive...
A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to everyone they know, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.

SLEEP DEPRIVATION:

1. Higher risk of heart disease: Not experiencing the nightly blood pressure drop in pressure is a risk factor for heart disease. Increased heart rate, blood pressure and higher levels of certain chemicals linkedlinked with inflammation, causing heart disease and damage.

2. Prone to Type 2 Diabetes: Lack of sleep triggers our stress response, leading to the release of stress hormones cortisol and norepinephrine, which are associated with insulin resistant, Type 2 Diabetes.

3. Higher risk of Injury: Tiredness and drowsiness, arising out of lack of sleep, impairs motor coordination, awareness, and response times, leading to injuries to self or others.

4. Decreased Libido: Sleep-deprived men and women report lower libidos and less interest in sex. Depleted energy, sleepiness, and increased tension may be largely to blame. Men with sleep apnea also have low testosterone levels.

5. Increased risk of Stroke: Lack of sleep negatively affects cardiovascular health, increasing the risk of restricted blood flow to the brain, leading to neuro-degeneration and stroke.

6. Increased risk of Breast Cancer: Late night exposure to light is linked to reduced melatonin production, which disrupts estrogen production. Increase of estrogen spikes the risk of breast cancer.

7. Increased Anxiety: Lack of sleep amplifies the brain's anticipatory reactions, raising overall anxiety levels.

8. Heightened Depression: Lack of sleep causes a decrease in neurotransmitters which regulate mood. Sleep loss often aggravates the symptoms of depression, and depression in turn can make it more difficult to fall asleep. A viscous spiraling effect.

9. Impaired Cognition: Lower nighttime and excessive daytime sleepiness impairs your memory and your cognitive ability affecting attention, alertness, concentration, reasoning, and problem solving.

10. Increased Obesity: Six hours or less of sleep, spurts up production of the hunger hormone ghrelin and limits leptin, which helps you balance your food intake. Too little sleep can spur some less-than-ideal food choices, including serving yourself larger portions, and a hankering for junk food.

11. Ages your Skin: Chronic sleep loss leads to the release of the stress hormone cortisol, which can break down skin collagen, the protein that keeps skin smooth and elastic. Sleep loss also causes the body to release lower levels of human growth hormones.

12. Diminished Immunity: Disruption of Circadian Rhythm (Natural Time Clock) leads to poor white blood cell health, which weakens our physical stress response or immunity, making us prone to constant infections and flu.

13. Long term Memory Loss: Brain events called “sharp wave ripples” transfer learned information from the hippocampus to the neocortex of the brain, where long-term memories are stored. Sharp wave ripples occur mostly during the deepest levels of sleep.

14. Increased Hypertension: Sleeping less than 6 hours a night, increases the risk of having high blood pressure, by not allowing your heart a break to slow down for a significant period of time.

15. Stressed Relationships: Disruption of a bed partner's sleep, due to a sleep disorder, may cause significant problems for the relationship (separate bedrooms, conflicts, moodiness, etc.).

16. Decreased Performance and Alertness: Sleep deprivation induces significant reductions in performance and alertness. Reducing your nighttime sleep by as little as 1 ½ hrs, for just one night, could result in a reduction of daytime alertness by as much as 32%.

17. Increased Fertility: Regular sleep disruptions can impair fertility by reducing the secretion of reproductive hormones and has been studied to be one of the main causes for lack of conception.

18. Sleep Paralysis: Sleep paralysis occurs when the brain is aroused from its REM cycle, but the body remains in its immobilizing state. Sleep deprived people are more likely to have panicked episodes of sleep paralysis that are usually accompanied by hallucinations.

19. Impaired Judgment: Our ability to make sound judgments is dented, as we may not assess situations accurately and act on them wisely, leading to issues in personal as well as professional lives.

20. Weakened Bones: Studies on rodents have found a strong connection between sleep deprivation and osteoporosis.

21. Poor Quality of Life: Certain activities that require sustained attention, like enjoying movies, playing with your kids, or precious moments with your dear ones, can become difficult due sustained lack of sleep.
